Asheville-Weaverville Speedway 10"x15" Metal Print

The Calm Before The Storm

Led by a pair of colorful 1957 Fords including pole sitter #98 Marvin Panch and #22 Fireball Roberts, stock cars roar to life on the distinctive red clay at Asheville-Weaverville Speedway in March of 1957. Anticipating the thunderous steel storm that is about to unfold, a father and son race to safety among the standing room only crowd of nearly 6000 race fans. NASCAR champion #87 Buck Baker driving a 1957 Chevrolet and the 1957 Mercury of #17 Jim Paschal occupy row 2, followed by Paul Goldsmith, Jack Smith, Speedy Thompson and Ralph Moody. Racing legend Ralph Earnhardt, piloting a 1957 Oldsmobile for Petty Enterprises, starts in the 9th position in the #188. After 200 laps on the half-mile dirt oval Buck Baker took the checkered flag on his way to his second consecutive NASCAR championship later that season. Smyle Media Photo

Motorsport Productions has brought about the next evolution in pictorial representation, combining some of the finest shots of motorsports from the past and present with a technique that eliminates the hassles of traditional paper-printed photos and damage to the images caused by aging, moisture and handling. These images have done for photos what HD did for TV, providing far deeper and more impactful images than one can imagine. It's more like artwork than a photograph after going through this AlumiPrint process, and I'm proud to say that I'm a satisfied customer!"

Our Photographic Process

The first step in creating a metal print is to print a digital image on special paper called a transfer, with eight different colored inks, actually called sublimation dyes, which have a translucent quality that gives the images a three-dimensional look and feel. Next we place a blank metal sheet on the transfer and using a large heat press, applying a ton of pressure for about two minutes at 400° Fahrenheit. Under this heat and pressure, the sublimation dyes turn into a gas and are sublimated into the special coating on the aluminum. At this point we have a metal print, and after it cools, it then goes to our in house “Framing Gallery”, where it is trimmed to size, framed or mounted depending on the order. Then, the last step is to carefully wrap and package your metal print into one of our shipping boxes, specially designed and engineered to protect the metal print during shipment, so all you have to do when the print arrives, is hang it on the wall and enjoy.

Frames & Mounts

Our in house "Framing Gallery" is always experimenting with new frame designs and innovative ways to mount and display your “High Definition” metal prints. From our simple box mount to the museum quality "Shadow Frame", you will find a frame or mount that meets all of your individual requirements. The Shadow Frame was designed exclusively for framing metal prints and is available with a brushed black or silver finish.

- Brilliant luminescent images

- Durable archival prints without glass

- Ultra-Hard scratch-resistant surface

The reflective light properties of our metal prints combined with our translucent dyes makes our images look and feel three dimensional with a depth of field that is truly amazing. This evolution in digital printing is unparalleled in producing the most vivid colors, with crisp-sharp detail.
